The first game of the series King's Quest was released in 1984 and marked the beginning of a whole family of games with similar names - Space Quest, Police Quest, Quest for Glory. Last game was released in 1998, and since all attempts to revive the series were unsuccessful. The new King's Quest - not the continuation of a cycle, not a remake, not an offshoot: rather, it is a free paraphrase. During the time of its original series protagonist Graham managed to go from a beardless youngster to gray-haired patriarch. In the game the old Graham, voiced by Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown from "Back to the Future") tells his granddaughter Gwendolyn about adventures that he happened to go through between games of the original series.
The first chapter of the story is about the beginning of his journey - a day when quite a boy he came to the kingdom of Daventry, to become a knight. Choosing the menu has not released the chapter we see as a reflection of the hero in a magic mirror changes, turning first to the strong man, and then in the venerable old man - a clear hint that the game in the final form will cover the whole of his long and rich life of the exploits.
